Sarah Wigglesworth Architects
Sarah Wigglesworth Architects designed an extension for a primary school in the Peak District village of Mellor, providing a series of inspiring and imaginative new spaces while allowing the school to become a single form entry primary school. The spaces that have been developed include a classroom, an SEN room, new library and an extension to the hall. Inspired by the school’s ethos as a ‘forest school,’ the low energy building uses locally sourced natural materials to create an exciting and stimulating environment to be enjoyed by staff, children and the community alike.
